My brother's visit

A few photos from Brian's visit to Laos and our travels around Vientiane and Vang Vieng

(pretty much the same as the ones on Facebook)

We had a look around Vientiane firstly and I showed Brian the sights and sites...

We took a day trip to Buddha Park - the long way 'round

Vang Vieng

Then, because city life can be stressful, we headed off into the wild green yonder for a long weekend:

We went "tubing" down Nam Song

And here's a video

Waterfall

We rode motorbikes up to a waterfall where kids were busking and we saw and ate some strange things

And here's video proof that we ate the rat squirrel

We rode around the nearby countryside and enjoyed the people, the animals, the sunshine and the astounding scenery

Watch this video of Brian riding a Chinese bike on a dirt road amidst amazing scenery:

We "tubed" again

This time we were the first tubers of the day in the peace of early morning

Watch this video and listen to the birds!
Early morning tubing

Then we hired a buggy and sprayed some dirt!

Here's a video I tried to take from the passenger seat:

Back in Vientiane

We went out with friends a few times

And then he left - to fly away home.

  1. Wow, a real documentary. Loved the videos, I feel I've just been to Laos and had a holiday. Loved being on the river and hooning along the tracks on the buggy forcing locals off the road. Ace. you outta be in movies Julie. Jaunty

    1. Glad you enjoyed it vicariously, Jaunty! It was suggested that Brian uncovered the inner bogun in me. We had a lovely time.
